NOTHING BEATS PERUVIAN FOOD ? Come on, what are you talking about ! Your lack of culinary insight is obvious, as there is no such thing as my food is better than yours. Get of your ethnocentric mindframe, and open up to the realities that there is a broad range of food out there in the world,
I could also say that Chinese food is the best in the world and that "NOTHING BEATS CHINESE FOOD", reasons being that there are more Chinese people who eat itm as oppose to much more less Peruvians who eat Peruvian food.
To rub it in a little more, the Chinese have a Chinatown (Barrio Chino) in Lima Peru, and many other countries around the world alike, As oppose to no Peru town in China or anywhere else in the world alike.
We could go on with this silly argument for ever, naming other countries food such as India, Italy, Spain ect.

Open your mind, get off your narrow minded state of mind end enjoy what in front of you ..

No clue what the "ass" is other than donkey. Someone named Mike mentioned it and said it's "(Its like a BIG HOT DOG, but inside there is Cheese with meat) and its incredibly tasty". That's all I got for ya.

Chorrillana sounds good!

Cheers

Oye Mike,

I am from Chile myself and I have no idea what you mean by the street food that you spell as "ASS" - please describe further so as to not confuse the public about what would sound like a demeaning food. Thank you.

This post its relative antique but i will post here since im from Chile
There are a lot of errors in this post,
1)here the obesity its almost like USA and its getting worse
2) The pisco Sour its from Chile, the Peruvian people copy that
3)the Churros from Chile, are a LOT BETTER than the Peruvian but obviously its not a lot healthy
4)The diet varies from poor people to rich people, an example here is
poor class people eat only breads, and unhealthy food
Medium class people, eats street food like the one you said "Completo", Ass(Its like a BIG HOT DOG, but inside there is Cheese with meat) and its incredibly tasty, and obviously they ate almost all from fast food like mcdonald, etc...
High Class people, they ate more veggies, a more balanced meals, but its the more healthy of all, obviously there are exceptions on all of the diets i mentioned but they are the minority like me.
We have another really tasty thing, the NUTS4NUTS, yep the one sell peanut with caramel in wall street NY, thats CHILEAN.
And i have to mention that there is some farm people who eats a diet like 30%Protein-50% Fat-20%Carbs, and they live perfectly 80-90 or more years and the carbs that they eat are almost completely unprocessed.
One last thing, here the people eats incredibly bad, imagine Chile like a mini USA, because its really a MINI USA in that aspects, and here they copy everything from USA and others countries, but i have to say it, the typical streets unhealthy food from here are a lot more tasty than, Argentina, Brasil, Peru, almost all American Countries, why im Saying this? because i have been in almost all countries here in America.
Examples of the unhealthy really tasty food
Pastel de Choclo but the version with Sugar
Churros filled with Manjar
Sopaipillas
Sopaipillas Pasadas
Completos and all the varietys we have
Ass(Like i said before its like a BIG HOT DOG but with differences features
Calzones rotos
Peanuts, almond nuts, etc.. with sugar=NUTS4NUTS
And thats a few of all of the incredibly tasty unhealthy food.
Well thats all, so all who read this thing, have a nice day

Althought components in the tea might reduge AGEs, tea /contains/ AGEs!

I was very surprised to learn about this. If anyone is interested (e-mail me), I can probably relocate the source of this information. It was a presentation by a medical doctor about the Malliard reaction and how AGEs negatively affect the body and, in particular, our skin.

In his presentation was a list of the approximated AGE conent of various types of food. At the very top of the list were coffee and tea (and tea was higher.)

Alarming and saddening at the same time.

The 9pm is still the lighter meal, the lunch is usually considered the main meal, with more than one course. But the lighter evening meal can still involve a plate of hot food (like pasta or fish with rice), it doesn't necessarily mean it is only a sandwich or snack. I am from Chile and that is what I have observed with my family and extended family.
